The short story “Legends” talks about a girl named Alannah.

She seems to be a problematic teenager: she

has an eating disorder, appears very skinny, and throughout the story she keeps reminding/imagining
phrases her mother said or could say. In the beginning of the story she is in bed with Dylan, his fingers
tracing her ribs, after they had sex the night before. After she bend over to take her clothes they go
downstairs where there are other people including Aidan, Dylan’s best friend and the guy Alannah actually
wants. Aidan seems to not care much about Alannah but when Dylan pulls her into him she notices that
Aidan is staring at her frowning. Alannah decides to go home but before uses the bathroom which is in
squalor, here she has a conversation with Aidan who shows his disappointment that she slept with his best
friend.
