A. Content Standards: The learner demonstrates an understanding of
music textures and the difference between the 4 music textures.
B. Performance Standard: The learner demonstrates competentency
in conceptualizing for the four music textures.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives:

Specific Objectives:
1. Identify the 4 different music textures.
2. Perform the different music textures.
3. Displays appreciation towards 4 domains.

A.REVIEWING PREVIOUS LESSONS PRESENTING THE NEW


LESSON:
Preliminary Activities:
• Prayer (Teacher will show a music video of a doxology.)

• Checking of Attendance (Teacher tells the students to say present as


their name is called.)

• Presentation of the New Lesson


Let the student listen to the song that they are familiar and has several
music textures.

B. ESTABLISHING A PURPOSE OF THE LESSON (MOTIVATION):


Ask questions from students’s idea of textures. What does it mean when we ask
the texture of a cloth?

C. PRESENTING EXAMPLES/ INSTANCES OF THE LESSON:


(Powerpoint)
Pre-Test: Answer the question What does the word mono and phonic
mean?
(NOTE: Students will be asked one at a time for recitation/participation.
Give praises and positive/constructive feedbacks to learners who participates
well.)

Then the teacher will ask:

“So what is the meaning for monophonic”

ANSWER: One single sound

Discussion and Unlocking of Terms: Teacher will show a video clip about
Monophonic texture, how it looks like in notation and how it is sounded like.

Teacher play the video on the projected screen.
Monophonic Texture: Music with a single melodic line, without accompaniment or harmony.

Repeat the same process as in Monophonic for the rest 3 textures.

Compare and contrast. Let the students compare the differences from each texture.

E. DEVELOPING MASTERY:
ACTIVITY:

The teacher will group the students into 4 groups to perform the textures, one
group perform one texture, the texture will be decided based on drawing lots.

The students will be given 10 minutes to prepare the performance. Then the each
group will perform one texture in front of the whole class.

(NOTE: When one group is performing, the others group should listen to show
their respect the other groups. After the performance of each group, teacher
should give corresponding feedback based on their performance.)

F. FINDING PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF CONCEPTS AND


LIVING:
When the students choose the song that match with the chosen texture as
the activity present above, the students are given chance to apply the
knowledge of what they have learned,

G. GENERALIZATION AND ABSTRACTION:


EXIT SLIP: Ask the students to give the key word for each texture.

H. EVALUATION: IDENTIFY ME
INSTRUCTION: Identify the given music textures, spell correctly for each
texture.

I. ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES: Let the students look for the music that they
heard in their life for different textures.

J. REMEDIATION: Clarify the 4 different textures by giving more examples.
