A. Content Standards: The learner demonstrates an understanding of
the definition of harmonies.
B. Performance Standard: The learner demonstrates composition in
conceptualizing for music harmony.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives:

Specific Objectives:
1. Understand the two types of harmonies interns of both number of
notes and the quality of the most common chords.
2. Compose harmony upon a certain melody.
3. Displays appreciation upon harmony.

A.REVIEWING PREVIOUS LESSONS PRESENTING THE NEW


LESSON:
Preliminary Activities:
• Prayer (Teacher will show a music video of a doxology.)

• Checking of Attendance (Teacher tells the students to say present as their


name is called.)

• Presentation of the New Lesson


Let the student listen to the song that they are familiar and has melody and
harmonies.

B. ESTABLISHING A PURPOSE OF THE LESSON (MOTIVATION):


Ask questions from students’s idea of harmony. How does it differ from
pervious lesson Melody?

C. PRESENTING EXAMPLES/ INSTANCES OF THE LESSON:


Pre-Test: Play on the keyboard melody rst, they add harmony on that ,
then ask what is the difference between the two?
(NOTE: Students will be asked one at a time for recitation/participation.
Give praises and positive/constructive feedbacks to learners who participates
well.)

Then the teacher will ask:

“What is the harmony?”

ANSWER: the sound of two or more notes heard simultaneously.

D. DISCUSSING NEW CONCEPTS AND PRACTICING NEW SKILLS

Discussion and Unlocking of Terms: Teacher introduce to the students two
types of harmony based on how many notes sounded together, if two notes
sound together, it produces interval; if three or more notes sound together, it
produces chords.

Teacher will show the notations for interval and chords.

Introduce the most common chords are major and minor chords. What is major and minor
respectively, how does it sound like? And the teacher will also show the students how to build up
major and minor chords on piano.

E. DEVELOPING MASTERY:
ACTIVITY:

The teacher will group the students into groups and have them compose harmony
based on the given melody, each group will perform their composition in front of
the whole class.

F. FINDING PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF CONCEPTS AND


LIVING:
Application for building up chords:After the domestication of how to build
up major and minor chords, invite students come to the keyboard to build
the given chords.
Application for harmony: Sing a chorus song which contains melody and
it’s harmony.

G. GENERALIZATION AND ABSTRACTION:


EXIT SLIP: Ask question how does harmony parts enhance melody?

H. EVALUATION: DEFINE ME.


INSTRUCTION: Ask students what is harmony?

I. ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES: Let the students look for the music that they
heard in their life that has harmony.
