To Whom It May Concern,

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Loni for consideration as a recipient for
local scholarships. Loni has been an intern in my fifth grade class for the last two years. She
comes to her internship position on time each day, ready to help in any way possible. If
students are working independently, she offers to help with countless other tasks such as
filing, grading, and preparing materials for students. Loni is always eager to help in any way
possible. Her patience and calm demeanor makes her easily approachable and students always
feel safe and supported in her presence.

Loni has a variety of strategies in place to support student behavior. She is firm and
consistent in regards to student behavior and has high expectations for all students. Loni
works hard to make sure each student understands what is being asked of them and has the
tools that they need to succeed. It is apparent that she truly cares about all students she
comes into contact with and she makes it a priority to make each student feel that care and
support.

In addition to going above and beyond to support students in the classroom, Loni has
volunteered to help at several school events such as the Garin carnival. She has given up her
afternoon and evenings to help make these events a success for our students. After witnessing
how many of our fifth grade students are struggling in math, Loni volunteered to come in after
school and tutor students who are below grade level or struggling with challenging concepts.
We are planning to work together to create an after school tutoring program to provide
support for students who need additional help in a small group setting in order to succeed. Loni
readily offers to lend a helping hand whenever the need arises.

Loni takes her school and internship responsibilities very seriously. She is an Honor Roll
student and does an excellent job balancing school and work responsibilities. Loni has faced
financial hardship and has learned how to be a valuable asset to her employer as well as a
shining example of responsibility and integrity as a student intern. In addition, she shows
commitment to the Liberty Choir and makes time for doing what she loves. Her perseverance
and tenacity are core traits that will insure Loni’s success in all future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Ashley Amaro
