Bad Ex. "There sales last month was good."
Clear
- Easily understandable
- Shows clarity of the purpose of the message
- Being precise and avoiding jargons
Good Ex. “The return on investment (ROI) of our latest pay-per-click
(PPC) campaign has exceeded our key performance indicators (KPIs).

Bad Ex. “The ROI of our latest PPC campaign has surpassed our KPIs.”
Concise
- Message must be brief and to the point
- Short and simple

Good Ex. “We need more data to determine the outcome.”

Bad Ex. “In order to possibly determine the outcome of the situation
that we’re currently looking at, we might need more data.”
Coherent
- Aid influential communication
- Consistency of style, tone, and language
- Can easily follow your ideas and train of thoughts
Good Ex. “Our sales increased last month, especially in
the Asian region. We should continue targeting the Asian
market.”

Bad Ex. “Our sales increased last month. Did you see the
new coffee machine in the pantry? We should target the
Asian market next.”
Concrete

report. Let's review it together.”

Bad Ex. “Your report was wrong.”

- Providing answers to your listeners with logic, fact, and
relevancy
- Give the recipient all of the information

by the end of day.”
Bad Ex. “Send me the files.”
Courteous
- Your messages should be friendly, professional,
considerate, respectful, open and honest
- Easy-to-read document
- Using tactful language and appropriate modes of
addressing the audience
Good Ex. “I don’t appreciate the fact that you kept on
cutting me off every time I shares my ideas for our
upcoming project.”

Bad Ex. “Seems like you have a lot of ideas for our
