Facilities Management Professional Diploma

In today’s complex world, facilities managers are not well equipped with the right knowledge
to manage the built environment. Facilities mangers need to develop their competencies and
gain a more holistic view on how business works while manage growth and the dynamic
change in the environment in parallel with managing people’s expectations, satisfaction and
health.
The FM diploma is designed for professionals who want to apprehend Facilities Management
with a comprehensive overview of best-practice management in a broad range of areas.
This professional diploma consists of 8 core courses that cover the fundamentals, standards,
and knowledge of FM, as well as the practical skills of using FM technology tools to manage
any facility. The courses focus also on operations design, maintenance, sustainability, project
management, and services transition related to people.
Participants are required to complete all courses, in sequential order.

1. Introduction to FM
Description/Outline
This is an introductory course in the field of Facilities Management. Participants are
equipped with the practical knowledge to discuss and reflect on. This knowledge-based
course will provide the participants with the FM basics, tools, techniques and working
knowledge of facility systems, structure to help them enhance and fine-tune their FM skills
as well as build and improve the performance of their teams
Participants are required to complete all courses, in sequential order, in one academic year.

2. Facility Information Management - Technology in FM


Description/Outline
This course provides knowledge about the technology used in the field of Facilities
Management. Participants will learn how to differentiate between various technology tools.
Moreover, participants will develop an understanding of the models that could
accommodate the needs of the organization based on the model selected and acquired.
3. Design for FM Operations
This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to
learn how to develop/assess a full Facility Management (FM) program, starting from
creating a facility management vision, mission, and strategy to risk management,
operations management, and finally reaching the performance management.

4. FM Maintenance and Services Transition


This course provides an understanding of the FM maintenance influencing various aspects
of an organization operation and its various developmental phases. It is designed to expose
participants to the most relevant FM operational challenges and the relationships between
the key stakeholders in any organization and the FM team.
The second part of the course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of
Facility Management Services Transition, with a focus on four key areas: Change
Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Wellbeing in the Workplace (specialist), and
Influencing Behavior and Psychology of People. Participants will gain practical knowledge
and skills to successfully manage and navigate the challenges associated with transitioning
facility management services. The course aims to equip learners with the necessary tools to
ensure a smooth transition while prioritizing the safety, well-being, and productivity of
employees.

sustainability, and recognize commonly used terminology. Also, the course will provide
participants with the information, tips, and tricks required to carry out their roles
effectively.

This course provides participants with an understanding of the role of the facilities
manager in the construction projects. Participants will discuss various applied project
management models and approaches. In addition, participants will discuss the effect of
project management as a function and as an approach on the FM dynamics.
