Introduction to

Modulation
Modulation is the process of encoding information from a message signal into a
carrier signal for transmission. This allows data to be efficiently transmitted over
various communication channels, such as radio, television, and the internet.

Delta Modulation
1 Sampling
The analog input signal is sampled at regular intervals.

2 Quantization
The sampled values are quantized to the nearest digital level.

3 Feedback
The quantized output is fed back to predict the next sample value.
Advantages of Delta Modulation
1 Low Bit Rate 2 High Signal-to-Noise Ratio
Delta modulation requires a lower bit The feedback loop in delta modulation
rate compared to other modulation helps maintain a high signal-to-noise
techniques, making it efficient for ratio, resulting in better quality
transmitting data. transmissions.

3 Low Power Consumption

Delta modulation is a simple and efficient technique, requiring less power consumption for
transmitting and receiving data.
