To make this grafting needle start with
an eight inch piece of 1/8" diameter
(12 gauge) steel wire. Grind and or file
SIDE VIEW the end as shown above. Finish with
a fine file or emery paper so the end is
smooth. Then bend the wire to the
shape shown above. Note the
rounded tip on the top view.

This shape and size is preferred by


the authors. Do not be afraid to
TOP VIEW experiment with different angles or
lengths that may fit your hand size or
preferred grafting position. If you
think you would like a thicker handle
you can wrap it with string or cord or
ACTUAL SIZE you can cut off the hook end and put it
into a short piece of dowel rod.
