Directions: Write analysis and reflection papers on literary texts of the short story
1. entitled Pilandok Crosses the River - Oral Tradition and Short
Story: Twas Brilig by Leonida P. Derida

Here’s a step -by-step guide on how to structure and write an analysis and reflection
papers.

1. Choose a Text: reflect and analyze the short story or any form of literature.

2. To start your paper, it is important to provide an introduction that offers key details
about the text and its author. The introduction should highlight at least three of the main
problems in the story that you plan to discuss in your analysis. Additionally, it should
outline the main points that you aim to reflect upon. Please ensure that there are no
spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors in your writing.

3.Summary:

In the initial section, provide a brief summary of the text. Describe the plot, characters,
and setting. Mention the major themes and conflicts in the text.

4.Analysis:
Consider the following elements in the literary devices used in the story such as
symbolism, imagery, and foreshadowing.

Character Analysis: Analyze the main characters, their development, motivations, and
themes they contribute to the text’s themes.

Narrative Analysis: Discuss the narrative style (first -person, third-person, etc.) and its
impact on the reader’s experience.

Themes and Motifs: Explore the central themes and motifs, providing evidence from
the text to support your analysis.

Cultural and Historical Context: Consider how the text is influenced by the cultural
and historical context in which it was written.

Author’s Intent: Discuss the author’s purpose, message, and any social or political
commentary.

5.Reflection
In the reflection section, share your personal reactions and thoughts about the text.
Consider the following questions;
 How did the story resonate with you, and why?
 Did the story provoke any emotional responses or introspection?
 How the themes and characters relate to your own experiences or beliefs?
 What broader insights or lessons can be drawn from the story?
