Biography of Late Grend Chief Sir Micheal Somare.

Sir Micheal Thomas Somare was born on the on the 9th of April,1936 in Rabaul Province in a village
called Rapikid.Sir Micheal was the son of Ludwig Somera and Kabe Somera.His Father was a police man
from 1922 to 1947 and passed away on the 1972. In all he had four wives and six children of whom
Micheal was the eldest.Sir Micheal lived a outstanding life of great accomplishement and passed away
recently in Febuary 26, 2021 at Port Moresby .Living a life span of eigthty- five years . Micheal Somare
was persinate to learn Social Science .Leanring Social Science concept was a hobby to him aswell.
Micheal Somare had a good comunicative skills.In 1965 Sir Micheal Somera got married to Lady
Veronica. Lady Veronica is from the Murik lake and was the first lady of Papua Niginea when his husben
became the Prime Minister in 1975.

Sir Micheal Somare earliest education was at the Japanese run primary school at Karau during World
War II were he begin to read ,write and count in Japanese.From 1946 he attended Boram Primary
School,then Dregrehafen Education Center and was selected to go to Sogeri National High School
graduating with a Leaving Certificate issued by the Australian. This was a teaching qualification at that
time .Somera taught several primary and secondary school. Transferring within the Public Service,
Somare became the radio broadcaster based in Wewek in the East Sepik Province. He receive traing at
the Administrative Colleges at Waigani in 1965.

The challenges Sir Micheal encourted was that when he was the radio broadcaster he had numerous
conflicts with his superiors concerning the outspoken political comments he made.When he became
the elected member of the pariliment he form the oppostion group which he got help from the other
eight members of the parliment which was the first official opposition leaders. .Athough he was being
descriminated but he didn't let it to overcome or stop his progress. Sir Micheal always had a pride in his
culture and background .Allthough his initivies was always interupted by his career,he had to return to
his village and complete them.

First he decided to become a teacher then he decide to contest for election to get independence for the
people of Papua New Guinea which was a goal he set to archive. Evengually he was given the mendate
by his people and was one of the serving polition in Parliment.He worked with the eight other Pagu
Party members.Following the Hause of Assembly election in 1972 Somare join collition government
witch include Julias. Chan the People Progress Party member through the mendate of the two patry he
became the Prime Minister and then he started to talk about the sense of human rights of the country
and evegually he and his team got independence.

The purpose of this quest is to get independece from the Astralian so that the people of Papua New
Guinea can have owership and rulership over their own land.

This is a quest for comon good for humanity.

The things I learnt from this quest is that no matter how challenging the situation is just go for it.Don' t
let it stop your progress.The other thing I learnt is that Sir.Micheal is just radio broadcast speaker.But he
did not let his small status defind him.He continued to dream big.
