HISTORY I am investigating the medicinal plants that are used in towns of south-
central Mexico to induce abortion.

My research focuses on the cultural and local economic impacts of an
invasive plant, Typha domingensis, in Lake Patzcuaro, Mexico. I used a
combination of GIS and ethnographic methods to carry out my field research.

I conducted remote sensing and bio-geography research to develop a high-resolution
map of mangrove and salt marsh distributions along the coast of Baja California. I
analyzed Landsat satellite imagery using remote sensing techniques.
