The objectives of this study is to describe the local food consumption patterns of
the recipients of the Family Hope Program (PKH), as well as the factors that
cause changes in the local food consumption patterns of PKH beneficiary families
in Kendari City. The theory for reading data is the thinking of Levi Strauss on the
Culinary Triangle and Kingsley Davis (1990) on Social Change. This research
used qualitative data, where primary data was obtained through observation and
in-depth interviews with informants and field notes, then all research objects were
analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of research showed that: (1) The
changes in local food consumption patterns of rice for the recipients of the Family
Hope Program have experienced a change in that they used to consume local
food more often with the assistance program from the government making the
community dependent on rice commodities, besides that people's appetite for rice
consumption is influenced because the taste of rice is better. Nice, and (2).The
factors that influence the change in local food consumption patterns to rice in the
beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program in Kendari City are due to cultural,
geographical, economic factors, food availability, technology, education and
health. Conclusion Local food consumption patterns among beneficiaries of the
Family Hope Program in Kendari City are influenced: local food is used as a
snack, tastes in consuming local food, consuming sinonggi requires a lot of
money, sago, sweet potatoes and corn are dominantly consumed by older people.
