ABSTRACT
Proposed Methodology for Business
Administration of Engineering Offices
Office business administration is a business discipline that uses project management
and business administration, strategy, and supply chain techniques to control a
creative process, support a culture of creativity, and build a structure and
organization for engineering offices. The objective of office business
Administration is to develop and maintain a business environment in which an
organization can achieve its strategic and mission goals through the projects, and by
establishing and managing an efficient and effective system. Office management is
a comprehensive activity at all levels of business (operational to strategic), from the
discovery phase to the execution phase. "Simply put, design management is the
business side of design. Office business administration encompasses the ongoing
processes, business decisions, and strategies that enable innovation and create
effectively-designed products, services, communications, environments, and brands
that enhance our quality of life and provide organizational success."[1] The
discipline of design management overlaps with marketing management, operations
management, and strategic management.

This thesis consists of the following sections:


Section I:
The first section discusses the basic principals of main managerial
activities in engineering offices; it consists of the following chapters:
Chapter 1:
This chapter is intended to introduce the general principles and
fundamentals of general management that should be implemented as an
integral and essential aspect of project management through a detailed
and dedicated office managerial activities strategy.
Chapter 2:
In this chapter the plans and strategies that are used in internal office
organization regime are discussed. When identifying internal activities. A
common way of identifying internal activities is via a questionnaire
technique.
Chapter 3:

Human resources systems–this chapter consists of job analysis, job


design, job description, job assessment, salaries systems:

Chapter 4:

This chapter discusses technological systems used in management of


engineering offices, and the best practices of ingoing and outgoing
correspondence and documents, internet, intranet, emails, and backup’s
copies.

Section II:
The second section displays the proposed methodology for business plans of
engineering offices; it consists of the following chapters:

Chapter 5:

This chapter deals with designing and identifying the proposed


methodology via questionnaires containing secondary office managerial
activities.
Chapter 6:

This chapter displays the final results of the questionnaire. Moreover, set
some of comparative studies such as; arrange the managerial activates in
engineering offices.
Chapter 7:

This chapter concentrates on alternatives and set some solution that deal
with managerial activities. Hence clarifying and explaining Excellency
management approaches for engineering office activities.

Section III:
The third section chapter 8 deals with models of business plans. It consists of the
following chapters:
Chapter 8:

This chapter discusses the final conclusion of the research which is the
standard model for the three volumes of offices, small, medium, and large
and it deals with the existing offices and proposed plans for new offices.
