The Executive branch is there to enforce the laws and in doing so they have the power to create agencies such as the EPA to
ensure the laws are being followed and when they are not enforcing sanctions through this as fines or moving it up to the courts for
legal actions. The Judicial branch is required to interrupt laws that come in front of them using the Constitution and Statutes, when
no statute exists courts are required to refer to common law or case law to look to for guidance in deciding how to rule in a case.
(NATIONAL PARALEGAL COLLEGE, 2018)
The legal process we currently have offers a set of checks and balances to ensure that everyone who ends up in the judicial system
receives the same legal rights and are not denied access to counsel or are made to self incriminate oneself. The Constitution and
bill of rights protects us and give us these very basic rights as citizens. The sources of law are meant to protect those rights and if
we end up in the judicial system they are in place to ensure that we receive a fair trial. The legal system is there to maintain ethics
and what is right but a societal standard. This does not mean that each individual will believe that this is right but that as a society it
protects and upholds the laws that are meant to ensure the safety and livelihood.
