In this mini research we are about to know each of the boys monthly allowance in the JHCSC High School
Department. In today’s society, financial literacy and money management skills are crucial for individuals to
navigate their personal and professional lives successfully. One of the ways to foster financial literacy in young
boys is through the concept of allowance. An allowance can serve as a valuable tool for teaching boys about
money, budgeting, saving, and responsible spending. By providing boys with an allowance and guiding them in
managing their finances, we can empower them to develop essential financial skills and cultivate a healthy
relationship with money from an early age. An effective way to instil these values is by providing children with
an allowance, which serves as a practical tool for learning about budgeting, saving, and making wise financial
decisions.
The problem at hand is the lack of understanding regarding boys’ allowances and the potential influence on
their financial behaviours and gender roles. By investigating the factors that contribute to the allocation of
allowances for boys and the subsequent impact on their development, this research seeks to bridge the gap in
knowledge and provide valuable insights into this underexplored area. This will be conducted in JHCSC High
School Department during the school year 2022-2023.

b. What is the 5th decile score and 95th percentile score of the results in the Boys Monthly Allowance?

Position of Third Quartile class= 4 = = = 22.5

This means we need to find a class interval where the 22.5 th score is contained. Note that the 20th to 24th
scores belong to the 683 – 843 class interval, thus the 22.5th score also contained therein.

This means that 75% of the Boys Monthly Allowance has less than or equal

This means we need to find a class interval where the 28.5th score is contained. Note that the 26th to 30th,

CONCLUSION
Analysis of the data obtained in this mini-research shows that the suggested allowance by the teachers is 708.1.
Hence, 75% of the Boys in JHCSC don’t have a suggested allowance, while the other 25% have the suggested
allowance higher than 708.1. It can also be shown that the median allowance is 484.94. This means that 50% of
the Boys have an allowance below or equal to 484.94, and the other 50 have an allowance higher than 484.94.
Moreover, students who got scores higher than 7l are part of the upper 5% of the class.
