In an unprecedented global health crisis, trade is essential to save lives and livelihoods; and

international unity is needed to keep such trade flowing. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused
direct impacts on global trades. The virus continues to spread on a global scale and one of the
downside scenarios of the first hit of virus in around first half of 2020 is the collapse in global
GDP (Gross Domestic Product). Moreover, most major economies now look set to enter
recession, and more serious happenings. The scale of this pandemic is a consequence of
international trade and globalization. Reduced access to medical supplies and assistance,
shortfalls of budgets as a result of reduced taxes that will all generally lead in decline in
economy activity-are just one of the problems that the whole world is facing right now. The
COVID-19 pandemic indeed has drastically affected all of us in all different ways. Hence,
worldwide merchandise trade flows decreased by a specific number of percentages by year
2020 to 2021. It is to be noted that there are several dimensions to such pandemic that are
likely to affect international or global trade: health impact; the consequences of governments’
actions to protect their citizens and help stop the spread; and the impact of crisis in third world
countries.
