EXT: PARK LOOKING AT MUSEUM – LATE AFTERNOON
It’s a nice calm afternoon, ducks swim by on the river, leaves
rustle beneath your feet and both MIKE and LINDA enjoying each
other’s company walking by the river on a nice calm warm
evening. One of them looks over at the museum. Which has been
left for over two decades but know one knows why.

isn’t it?

LINDA
Kind of weird that the museum is still
there,
MIKE
Yeah, it is, I went when I was like five
but that was ages ago.
LINDA
You’re not wrong, it was ages ago. I generally
thought they would have torn it done by know as well but it’s
still standing.

Camera cuts over to the museum structure and the dark

atmosphere that surrounds it. The camera then turns to shoot
another part of the museum of an empty room within.
The camera then pans back to the pair looking at the building
and still talking about it.

MIKE
I wonder if they were ever goanna take it done
but I guess because of how historic the building itself they
is wouldn’t, but I sure think it should stay no matter what.
LINDA
yeah true, but what I’m trying to comprehend is
that its still looks so clean I mean just look at the sign on
the outside and all of glass with the writing on.
Camera then does a close up of the writing on the glass to
show how good of condition that it is in
MIKE
Anyway, that doesn’t matter, because it’s been
there for two decades after the incident in 2004 when everyone
ran out of the building, but know ones knows why. That’s why
no one has gone back in since.
LINDA
That is very true, because the day it happened
it was all over the news.
MIKE
I mean if I oversaw the council, I would have a
team of people go in and take out what was valuable and left
what wasn’t.
LINDA
Why would you want to do that for. If it where
me, I would just leave it as it and not do anything. It’s like
the building in Barcelona, it still hasn’t been finished.
MIKE
But that’s whole different story. This is a
building that’s been left, that a building that hasn’t been
finished. See the difference?
LINDA
Oh yeah, I see the difference.
MIKE
I thought you were supposed to be the smart one
out of the two of us.
LINDA
now that’s just a bit rude, isn’t it?
MIKE
Not really, I was making a statement.
LINDA
Fair enough I believe you.
MIKE
Anyway, um I forgot what we were talking about.
LINDA
I think we finished on how I couldn’t tell the
difference between a building that was left and one that
hadn’t been finished yet.

MIKE
No before all of that
LINDA
Oh, umm, something about the museum or did we
not mention that?
MIKE
No, it was, we are the right part of our
conversation now, right where we left of.
LINDA

MIKE
Yeah, why not, the whole museum thing kind
of freaks me out.
LINDA
Why, what freaks you out about?
MIKE
Just it being there and no one knowing why,
really what about you?
much anymore.
MIKE
No mothing much either. Seems like we don’t
do
LINDA
Yeah true, it’s like our lives have just
Wonderful, so do you wanna talk about something
plus didn’t you wanna change the topic of this chat or not?
LINDA
Oh yeah, I was just curious as to why you it
freaks you out.
Both of the pair walk towards a bench and sit down to continue
their conversation about their day.

MIKE
So, anything interesting happen in your day
or not?
LINDA
(still looking over at the museum) no not
stopped completely. I mean not to brag but I used to do
netball but not anymore.

MIKE
you’re not wrong, I used to play rugby but
not anymore.
LINDA
Yeah, but isn’t that a winter type of
sport?
MIKE
Yeah, but you didn’t let me finish.
LINDA
Oh yeah sorry, please carry on, tell me
more.

MIKE

Well, what I was going to say was that I did

rugby in the winter and footy towards like the summer
LINDA
okay cool, but know I’m guessing that’s all
stopped?
MIKE
That’s literally what I said at the
beginning of this conversation.
LINDA
Oh yeah.
MIKE
Are you being stupid on purpose?
LINDA
Yeah, I find it funny.
MIKE
Oh well I thought you were being stupid because
you just are but, it’s for a laugh.
LINDA
Pretty much, yeah
Linda looks down at her watch and realises what the time is
and then must leave but walk up close to the museum just for a
closer look.

LINDA

Oh man would you look at that, I got to be

going!

MIKE
Oh really, you have to leave now.
LINDA
Yeah, just realised I got work to go to
MIKE

Alright fair enough, I will let you go and work.

LINDA
Haven’t you got to be anywhere?
MIKE
No not really just going to chill here for
a bit
LINDA
Alright see you later
Linda walks of in the direction of the museum just to have a
closer look at to find out by herself what actually happened.
LINDA
(talking to herself) man all the barriers are
still up but there is a lot of the green thing on the side of
It though (points to them)
Back at the bench
MIKE
Why the hell did she go that way for. oh, just
to look at the museum again. What is with her and that museum.
EXT: TOWN CENTRE – MID MORNING
Mike is waiting for Linda so they can both go on a walk
together to look around.
LINDA
Hey you alright?
MIKE
Yeah, not too bad. (pause) can I ask you a
question quickly?
LINDA
Yeah, sure what is it?
MIKE
What is your obsession with the museum
yesterday?
LINDA
what do you mean?
MIKE
Well, when you left, you walk towards the
museum and then stayed there for a while just looking at it.
LINDA
Well, when we started talking about it
yesterday, I thought when we had finished, I had to leave for
work that I would go and have a closer look just because of
how far away we were sat from it.
MIKE
Oh, fair enough, I thought you were doing
something else.
LINDA
Oh no not that I just wanted to see it more
detail because it just interested me.
MIKE
So, your one of those types of people. The one
who like to investigate things in more depth and find out more
about them.
LINDA
See your learning so much more about me and
my habits now!
MIKE
Yeah true, so you wanna go for a walk?
LINDA
Yeah, sounds like a good idea on such a
lovely
MIKE
You’re not wrong, last night the news was
saying it was going to rain!
LINDA
Really, that is very surprising, just look at
the sky.

Camera points up to sky to show how nice and bright it and

then pans back down towards the pair.
MIKE
I know it’s incredible! (pause) so where do you
wanna go for a nice walk?
LINDA
Down by the river maybe
MIKE
How about somewhere away from the museum?
LINDA
What is your problem with me and the museum?
MIKE
Nothing, it’s just every time I am with you, we
end up near It or standing right outside of it.
LINDA
But the only reason I, unlike some people, want
to find out more about it.
MIKE
What else is there to know about a building
that hasn’t been used for the last two decades.
LINDA
A lot more if you think about. There’s the
history of the building, the architecture, there’s the....
MIKE
I’ve heard enough. Can we please find somewhere
else to go other than anywhere near the museum?
LINDA
Yeah, but you’ll be walking alone.
MIKE
Alright fine we will go.
Both Linda and Mike begin the walk down to the museum to see
what Linda has the hype for about some building right beside
the river
detail, right?
LINDA
See when you’re up close to it you can see
more
MIKE
Yeah, you’re not wrong but my question is
why
do you care so much?
LINDA
Like I told you before, it’s about the...
MIKE
Alright, I don’t need to hear it again.
LINDA
You asked.
MIKE
I mean you could have said anything different
from what you said like twenty minutes ago.
LINDA
Yeah, I could but I was trying to be funny, but
I guess it didn’t work.
MIKE
No, it did not.

LINDA

So, you wanna go inside. (turns to look at Mike

with a smile on her face)
MIKE
Have you lost your mind?
LINDA
No not really, I mean look the gates are
open.
MIKE
yeah but that been like that for
LUNDA
Two decades. We get it.
MIKE
I was just reminding you.
LINDA
You know you don’t have to do that all the
MIKE
Yeah, I know, I was just trying to be
funny.
LINDA
I’m crying with laughter right now.
MIKE
No, you’re not you’ve just got a straight
face.
LINDA
I was being sarcastic. So we doing it or
not?
MIKE
Not really.
LINDA
Oh come on stop being such a wimp
MIKE
Im not I just don’t want to
LINDA
Alright suit yourself
MIKE
Alright fine I’ll come with
LINDA
Yay someone’s got a stride in there step.

INT: MUSEUM _ LATE AFTERNOON

Both of them walk into the museum to find there is no one
there
and everything is still in the shop and all of the food in the
cafe
MIKE
I’m surprised the door still worked

LINDA
Yeah me too, kind of weird

MIKE
I’m kind of a little bit sceptical about this

LINDA
why knows one here

A figures silhouette comes across the front of the camera

MIKE
Oh my god did you here that?

LINDA
No, why, what did you hear?

MIKE
Someone’s footsteps

LINDA
