I am pleased to present the scope of works and Gantt chart for the construction of the double-
storey complex project for Marufu Construction Company in Harare.
Scope of Works:
1. Site Preparation:
- Clearing and grubbing of the site
- Topsoil stripping and stockpiling
- Demolition of any existing structures
2. Earthworks:
- Excavation for foundations and underground services
- Backfilling and compaction of excavated areas
3. Substructure:
- Concrete footings and foundation walls
- Damp-proof course and termite treatment
- Reinforced concrete ground floor slab
4. Superstructure:
- Brickwork for external and internal walls
- Reinforced concrete columns and beams
- Reinforced concrete first-floor slab
5. Roof Work:
- Timber roof trusses
- Roof coverings (tiles or metal sheeting)
- Fascia boards and gutters
6. External Works:
- Paved areas and driveways
- Landscaping and planting
- Fencing and gates
7. Internal Finishes:
- Plastering and painting
- Tiling for floors and walls
- Installation of doors and windows
- Carpentry and joinery work
8. Mechanical and Electrical Services:
- Plumbing and sanitary fittings
- Electrical wiring and installation of light fittings
- HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system
9. Project Management:
- Coordination of subcontractors and suppliers
- Site supervision and quality control
- Progress reporting and budget control
The attached Gantt chart outlines the detailed timeline and sequence of activities for the project.
The chart includes the estimated durations, milestones, and dependencies between the various
work packages.
