Due to the rapid advancement of innovation and the complexity of students nowadays, it is

necessary for me to integrate technology elements to attain a more engaging and interactive

classroom for my students. Short videos are an alternative method that is different from normal

teaching. The music is able to get students' attention by motivation, meanwhile, subtitles are the

video content in word form, which stimulates students' auditory and visual senses simultaneously,

ensuring a more comprehensive knowledge processing. Besides, if the video comes with gestures

or movements, it also gives rise to students’ kinetic modalities, which is conducive to enhancing

students’ willingness to study. For instance, students commit more to activities and participate

more frequently (Aguirre et al., 2016). In addition, I can always pause the video and ask

questions anytime during teaching, offering opportunities for students to brainstorm regarding the

content of videos, and nurturing students’ problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. The key

ideas can also be emphasized by playing the specific part repeatedly, or I can make additional

elaborations for my students when I find students confused. Furthermore, taking science as an

example, some scientific phenomena are too rapid or too time-consuming to observe. For

example, the water cycle or air resistance. I can always apply the slow motion or time-lapse

features in the teaching video, to grasp students’ attention and highlight the main points

simultaneously.
