1. Describe an advertisement you don't like
You should say:
Well, this topic’s reminiscent of the time when I encountered an advert on Facebook, but that
app left a bad impression on me, honestly speaking. Let me give you more information about it.
So, back to a couple of weeks ago, unless I am mistaken, after having finished my work, I was
mentally and physically exhausted, so I really wanted to have some time off. Then I decided to
surf Facebook to recharge my batteries. While I was using Facebook, I stumbled upon a short
advertising video about how to master English speaking skills in just 3 months.
The advert was about an application that promised to help users speak English fluently in just
90 days. The app used a combination of artificial intelligence and human tutors to provide
personalized lessons to learners. At first, I was curious about the idea of mastering English
speaking skills in such a short period of time. However, as I watched the ad, I became skeptical.
The language learning app was making unrealistic promises and seemed too good to be true.
After watching that video, I felt like the ad was exaggerating the effectiveness the app could
bring.
As a person who has studied languages before, I know that mastering a new language takes
time and effort, you know, and there are no shortcuts or easy solutions. So I hope that people
should be alert about advertisements on the Internet as sometimes they may not always deliver
what they promise in reality.
Yeapp, so I think time’s running out, and I don’t have any other ideas to talk about, thanks for
your attention!

You should say:
I am very interested in this topic and you know, it reminds me of Trung, who I bumped into at
a party, and he left a really impression on me during the conversation.
So let me tell you about how I made his acquaintance. Back to over 2 weeks ago, after having
finished my final examination, I was mentally and physcically exhausted. So I decided to attend
a musical concert to recharge my batteries. Well, When I was there, I came across him, and we
together engaged in conversation. During the talk, we shared a lot about different things, and I
realized that we had a lot in common.
For example, we talked about job and study. He told me that he had achieved a band 8 in the
IELTS and shared with me lots of useful tips to conquer the examination. He also talked about
his journey to establish his own business. So after hearing what he said, I really respected him.
Well, to give you more information about him, I would say he is a talented person. Trung is
very good at public speaking skills, which are always my achilles’ heel. So, the conversation at
that concert helped me a lot, and literally broadened my horizons about speaking in front other
other people. Hmm, furthermore, he has a really good sense of humour you know. During that
talk, I laughed a lot due to some funny jokes he told. So I think this is also the reason why he
garners a lot of respect from other people. One more thing I admire him is that he has a heart of
gold. I mean, thanks to that conversation, I’ve known that he has helped a lot of people
especially those in poverty by donating much money.
Well, I think that’s enough for my story about the person I met and had a really interesting
conversation with. So thanks so much for your attention.
