clause, conjunction)
o Basic sentence form.
- Speaking: Common topics (Introduction, hometown, family, work/study, hobbies -
Conversational)
II. Progress: 3 – 4
- Listening: Numbers/spelling/short conversations/Note taking
- Reading: Short simple stories/fairy tales/completion/T-F
- Writing: Grammar/Increase-decrease/comparison structures
- Speaking: Common topics (Introduction, hometown, family, work/study, hobbies -
harder questions), expanding answers, basic cohesive devices.
III. Good-job: 4 – 5
- Listening: Part 1 & 2 (multiple choice/map labeling/matching) (different topics)
- Reading: Short simple stories/fairy tales/general training + passage 1 (completion/T-F)
- Writing: Task 1: Graphs (Intro - Overview - Body paragraphs) (Requirements: logic
arrangement)
- Speaking: Less common topics, but not too difficult. Part 2: Describe a person
IV. Excellent: 5 – 6
- Listening: Part 3 & 4 (Multiple choice/matching/completion) (different topics) (pre-
listening)
- Reading: Short stories + passage 1 + passage 2 (Information location, matching headings)
(pre-reading)
- Writing: Task 1: Graphs (practice). Grammar: Passive voice, relative clauses. Maps &
process. Task 2: Opinion & Discussion
- Speaking: Less common topics, but not too difficult. Part 2: Describe a place. Part 3
(Future, opinion).
V. Phenomenal: 6-7
- Listening: Luyện đề (less pre-listening) (pre-listening at home)
- Reading: Long stories + passage 1 2 3 (Multiple-choice/Y-N) (pre-reading at home)
- Writing: Task 1: Practice. Task 2: Pros and cons, problems & solutions, 2-part
- Speaking: Uncommon topics, idioms, cohesive devices. Part 3: Object and Past event.
