Capacitance Measurement
Name Theoretical value Measured value
A 100 micro ohms 92.5 micro ohms
B 47 micro ohms 43.2 micro ohms

We did 4 combinations of the elements we had and we obtained the w from the
graps:
1. Solenoid + 100 Capacitor = 1220
2. Solenoid + 47 Capacitor = 1810
3. Loop + 100 Capacitor = 712
4. Loop + 47 Capacitor = 1060

4 ANALYSIS and DISCUSSION

In this experiment, our objective was to determine the resonance frequency in the
RC circuit. The analysis of our data clearly shows an energy loss attributable to
the resistance of the circuit's wires and the inductor, which possesses its own
internal resistance. This resistance plays a crucial role, as it causes the energy
within the circuit to gradually dissipate from one component to another, eventually
diminishing to zero once the circuit is disconnected from the power source.

Considering this phenomenon, it logically follows that the most appropriate

equation for calculating the resonance frequency in our experiment is one that
incorporates resistance. Upon examining the data, we observed significantly lower
error percentages in cases 1, 2, and 4 when using the resistance-inclusive
equation. Although case 3 did not follow this pattern, it is likely attributable to
a measurement error, as its results were inconsistent with those from the other
cases. This suggests the importance of considering resistance to achieve accurate
resonance frequency calculations in RC circuits..
