I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:

a) Analyze the relationship between the subject and predicate in constructing meaningful
sentences.

b) Demonstrate the ability to consistently identify subjects and predicates independently.

c) Prioritize the accuracy of subject-predicate agreement in their own writing.

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
a) Prayer

B. REVIEW
So last meeting you learned about, what was
your last topic class? Sentences ma’am.
Now that you’re done with the that let’s move
on to your next lesson.
C. MOTIVATION
But before we start, let’s have a warm up
activity. I want you to observe the listed words
on the board and identify when do we use
them.

D. LESSON PROPER
Today’s lesson is all about Subject and
Predicate.
But before we proceed class, what do mean by
subject and predicate class? For me ma’am subject is a person, place or thing,
Any idea from the class? while the predicate is like supporting the subject.

Example:
1. SUBJECT  Ana
 Dr. Luis
Everybody read.  He
 The Sun
 Lubuagan

It contains a verb or what is said about the subject.

Example:
 Is very beautiful.
 broke his leg.
2. PREDICATE  Went to Baguio yesterday.
 Rises in the east.
Everybody read.
 Is the capital of weaving.
Let’s combine the example to make a complete and
meaningful sentence.
 Ana is very beautiful.
 Dr. Luis broke his leg.
 He went to Baguio yesterday.
 The Sun rises in the east.
 Lubuagan is the capital of
weaving.

E. GENERALIZATION
Do you have any questions or clarification

Okay! So, if you don’t have any questions.
Again what is subject and predicate class? A subject contains the name of a person or
thing while the predicate contains the verb
ma’am.

Now that you understand our lesson for today,
let’s move on to your activity.

Board activity: Complete the following by adding a
predicate.

G. EVALUATION
In a ½ sheet of paper. Construct at least 10
sentences and underline the subject that being used.
H. ASSIGNMENT
In your notebook. Give at least 10 sentences
that contain a subject and a predicate.
