SPATIAL REQUIREMENT OF AN ISLAND BEACH RESORT, USER NEEDS. ETC.

Location and Environment: the resort must be located where areas are suitable which are free from
noises, the water pollution and the atmosphere

Parking: An open parking space with security that any guest is free to use

Room Accommodation: The resort will provide rooms that are equivalent to economic class hotel.

Location: The environment and its local area must be suitable for the economic class hotel.

Bedroom facilities and furnishing:

 Size - All rooms that are single and double shall have not less than 18 square meters.
 Bathrooms - Every room must have a bathroom with a shower and basic, high-quality fixtures, as
well as cold running water available around-the-clock and hotel running water during certain hours.
 Telephones - Every guest room will have a call bell.
 Cold drinking water - Each bedroom is required to have glasses and cold water.
 Room service - Room service will be available during certain hours.
 Furnishing lighting - Every guest room must have well-designed basic furniture and well-finished
floors. Good quality lighting fixtures and arrangements must be installed in all rooms and
bathrooms.
 Information materials - Each bedroom must have a prominent notice about the room rates as well
as information about the hotel's services, such as the hours of operation and locations of food and
beverage outlets, fire safety procedures, and guest house rules.

Front Offices/Reception:

 Reception and information counter - A reception area and information counter with a phone and
24-hour service will be present.
 Lounge - A lounge that is appropriately furnished in relation to the hotel's size must exist.
 Porter service - On request, porter services will be offered.
 Mailing facilities - Mailing facilities will be available.
 Long distance /Overseas calls - Calls over long distance and internationally will be provided upon
request.
 Reception amenities - There will be safety deposit boxes and a room for left luggage.
 Telex facilities – optional

Housekeeping:

 Linen - Every day, fresh, high-quality linens, blankets, towels, and other items must be provided and
changed.
 Laundry/dry cleaning service - Services for dry cleaning and laundry must be scheduled in advance.

Food beverage:

 Dining room - Laundry and dry cleaning services need to be booked in advance.
 Kitchen - The kitchen and pantry must be spotless, hygienic, well-stocked, and maintained. The
kitchen must have a large enough floor area, non-slip tile flooring, enough light, and enough
ventilation.
 Crockery - The tableware must be of high quality.

Engineering and maintenance:

Maintenance of the hotel in all


sections (i.e., building furniture,
fixtures,
etc.) shall be of good standard
 Maintenance - All aspects of the hotel's maintenance, including building furnishings and fixtures,
must be maintained to a high standard.
 Air conditioning - Air conditioning is required in at least 50% of the rooms (with the exception of
locations that are at least 3,000 feet above sea level).
 Ventilation - Every room must have enough ventilation.
 Lighting - Every public and private space must have sufficient lighting.
 Emergency power - In an emergency, a backup generator must be able to supply electricity and
light.
 Fire prevention facilities - The fire prevention facilities must adhere to the Philippine Fire Code's
regulations.

General facilities:

 Shops - There is going to be a general store.


 Security - There must be sufficient security at all hotel entrances and exits around-the-clock.
 Medicine service - A physician's services must be accessible when required.

Service and staff:

The personnel must be polite, skilled, experienced, and well-trained; The employees must wear spotless
uniforms.

Special facilities:

On request, airport transportation will be offered.

Public washroom:

There must be a sufficient supply of running water, soap, toilet paper, and a clean, functional public
restroom for both men and women.
Sports and Recreational facilities:

The resort must have a minimum of two (2) sports and recreation areas.

Food and beverages outlets:

At least one (1) food and beverage establishment is required at the resort.
