Earlier Life
Sinethemba Booi was born in Ncora Village Cofimvaba located in Eastern Cape. He moved from
Cofimvaba to Cape Town in the late 90s. He studied all his school grades and beyond in Cape Town.

Sinethemba Booi) born in (02 February 1990) known by his stage name uBiza Wethu is a South
African DJ, record producer and a Gqom artist from Cape Town South Africa. He is
the founder of the record label BW Productions. uBiza Wethu is part of the collective that
discovered the Gqom music genre, which became popular around 2017 and has worked with Dj
Tira, Mampintsha, Babes Wodumo, Danger, Nokwazi, Dladla Mshunqisi and many more. uBiza
Wethu is also known for introducing artists such as Mr Thela,Ace usenzani, Avela Mvalo, Afro
Sounds, Tebza, Mr Mnandi, Sheshamore, Nhanha, Anelisa N. through his record label BW
Productions.

Music career
In 2006 uBiza Wethu developed an interest in being a DJ while he was still in at school, at which
point he started playing as a DJ then later became a producer. Around 2017 he released his first
single named “3 step”, which is now still on our television screens. In 2019 he released a mind
blowing compilation album with Mr Thela tittled “Homemade compilation, 2 of the tracks in that
album managed to hit the gold level digitally. He performed under group named Afro sounds and
later formed his record label known as BW Productions together. uBiza Wethu has a strong
relationship with DJ Tira, Mampintsha, Danger and Babes Wodumo. Late 2019 he released a
series compilation EP named Summer sampler’ with DJ Ed Harris and Master Dee.
