Genetics and Plant Breeding
An Online meeting of Board of Studies of C.S.J.M University, Kanpur was held on May 10th,
2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 PM to discuss the syllabus of Genetics and Plant Breeding as per
NEP-2020 for the course of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. Professor Nand Lal, Department of Life
Science, C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur was present in the meeting as a University representative apart
from following honourable members:
1. Prof. Rajendra Kumar, Principal Scientist, Division of Genetics, I.A.R.I., New Delhi
2. Dr. R.P. Singh, Former Prof. & H.O.D., Deptt. Of Gen. & Plant Breeding, C.S.A.U.T, Kanpur
3. Dr. T.B. Singh, Ex. Director Research, N.D.U.A.T, Faizabad
4. Prof. V.K. Mishra, Deptt. of Gen.& Plant Breeding, B.H.U., Varanasi
5. Dr. Mahak Singh, Prof. & H.O.D, Deptt. Of Gen. & Plant Breeding, C.S.A.U.T., Kanpur
6. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Assoc. Prof., Deptt. of Genetics & Plant Breeding, Janta Mahavidyalaya,
Ajitmal, Auraiya
7. Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Assoc. Prof., Deptt of Gen. & Plant Breeding , Janta College
Bakewar, Etawah
Honourable members in this online meeting offered the following suggestions/
recommendations:
1. There is difference in credit distribution in Principles of Seed Technology (AG-403). On
page number 15, the credit distribution was mentioned as 3(2+1) while on page number 18 it
was mentioned as 3(1+2). Honourable members suggested that it should be 3(2+1) on the
both pages.
2. Honourable members have suggested to put Introductory Biology (AG 110-B) and
Commercial Plant Breeding with Department of Genetics and Plant breeding.
3. All the members were of the opinion that no change should be made in the syllabus.
Therefore, I am sending this file for your kind approval after including the valuable
suggestions offered by all of you. Please approve it.
