FINAL SELECTION LIST (JUNIORS) – INTERNATIONAL EVENTS

1. IMPORTANT PROVISIONS

1.1. The following list of players indicated below have been selected to participate in the listed international events
as part of the Chess South Africa Team;
1.2. The selection is based on the placing of players at the 2024 South African Junior Closed Chess Championships
(SAJCCC);
1.3. All selected players will receive Chess South Africa Federation Colours upon participation in the event, including
all official players;
1.4. Players who have been awarded national junior Protea Colours before, can wear these;
1.5. If a player (female and male) withdraws, the next highest placed player at the 2024 SAJCCC, will be selected;
1.6. Titled players (GM, WGM, IM, WIM, FM, WFM, CM, WCM) have also been selected for the 2024 Africa Youth
Chess Championship (AYCC) irrespective of whether they played the 2024 SAJCCC in accordance to Section
4 of the published regulations of the 2024 AYCC;
1.7. The titled players listed on this final selection list are not exhaustive since it only lists titled players who
participated in the 2024 SAJCCC;
1.8. Other titled players, who have not played the 2024 SAJCCC, can still register to participate in the 2024 AYCC.
However, the titled players who did not participate at the 2024 SAJCCC will not be considered for other
international tournaments;
1.9. Should a titled player be in the Top 9 at the 2024 SAJCCC, the next player in line have been selected for the
2024 AYCC;
1.10. The Executive Board (Elect) would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all players on their selection to
represent Chess South Africa at these very prestigious international chess championships;
1.11. Selected players are also encouraged to join the WhatsApp groups indicated in the official regulations of chess
tournaments where links are provided
