Katakana and Hiragana are two of the basic writing

systems used in the Japanese language, each with its own
distinct characteristics and purposes.

Hiragana:
Hiragana is a syllabary made up of 46 characters, each
representing a distinct sound in Japanese.
Originally derived from simplified Chinese characters,
hiragana characters are often rounded and more
cursive in appearance.
Hiragana is primarily used for native Japanese words
and grammatical elements such as particles, verb
endings, and suffixes.

Katakana:
Katakana is also a syllabary consisting of the same 46
basic characters as hiragana, but it has a more angular
and straight appearance.
Katakana characters are primarily used for loanwords
from foreign languages, foreign names, technical and
scientific terms, and onomatopoeia.
