SCHOOL LEARNING CONTINUITY AND RECORY PLAN

S.Y. 2022-2023

I. Rationale

The Subait Elementary School’s Learning Recovery Plan aims to develop

and implement effective remedial instruction, scaffold learning continuity, support
learners’ well-being, and train teachers for effective and relevant instruction.
Enclosure to Department Order 17 series of 2022 are the guidelines on the
progressive expansion of face-to-face classes. The guidelines scope includes
remediation plan for teaching and learning, processes and mechanisms for safe
operation of schools, and policies that will address learning gaps.

Teaching and learning before Pandemic is fun and productive. Fun in the
sense that teacher and pupil interact closely with each other. Various teaching
strategies were done. During lesson proper, teacher can have group activities,
reporting, singing, and dancing in the classroom and other activities. Extra-curricular
activities were participated by the children as well as teachers.

During pandemic, teaching and learning was challenged with circumstances.

Pupils are not allowed to go to school to interact with their fellow students as well as
their teachers. This time the school shift to modular learning to continue education
amidst pandemic. Teacher prepared the Self Learning Modules, parents get the
SLM in the school, while the children answer at home with the help of the
parent/guardian. This set-up faces a lot of concern from the teachers, parents and
pupils.

For the parents. It is new to them to teach their children in the lesson found in
the SLM. They have no time to teach their children they are busy in their household
chores at home. The other said they don’t have any idea about the lesson. For the
pupils, it is hard for them to grasp the lesson by merely reading the module without
the teacher to explain it to them. Unlike in the face to face classes where they can
have group activities as output, singing, dancing, role-playing and reporting.

After Pandemic we had a chance to have a limited face to face. Classes are
trim down to half of the class to insure physical distancing. Half day face to face
classes conducted. The teacher was able to assess the learners learning status.
Some of the lesson in the modular were not mastered so the teacher had to go back
to basic. Health protocols were always observe. Anyone who experience colds,
cough and fever were not allowed to go to school.

The learning Recovery Plan of Subait Elementary School captured the shared
responsibility of the school to other sectors.
