4. Read the short story and answer the questions.
The Poor Fisherman
Once there was a poor fisherman and his troublesome wife. One day the fisherman
caught a golden fish. It pleaded, “Please let me go, I am the king of the sea, I will
grant you any wish!” The fisherman let the fish go. When he told about it to his
wife, she became angry. So the fisherman asked the golden fish for food. The fish
granted the wish. She wanted a big house, that too was given to the wife. She got
greedier and greedier and wanted to become the queen of the sea. However, this
time the fish didn’t appear. After few days golden fish had taken back all the
wishes. The fisherman realised all this had happened due to his wife’s greediness.

(i) Why did the fisherman release the fish?
