UNIT 4: TRANSPORT

I. PART1
1. How do you go to school?

I usually go to school by bicycle. Although it is not a popular means of transportation

here, it contributes to protecting the environment. Moreover, this also helps me get
exercise every day.

2. How far is it from your home to school?

The distance from my home to school is approximately 3 kilometers. It's a manageable

distance, and my bicycle commute usually takes me about 30 minutes depending on
traffic conditions.

3. Would you ride bikes to work in the future?

I'm not certain. It also depends on the distance from home to work. If the distance is
short, I will ride a bicycle. Otherwise, I will take a motorbike.

4. What’s the most popular means of transportation in your city?

It is motorbikes. They are affordable, convenient, and versatile, making them the go-to
choice for many residents.

5. Do you prefer public transport or private transport?

For me, I prefer private transport, mainly due to the convenience it offers. While public
transport exists, it may not always be as efficient or comfortable as private options,
especially in crowded urban areas.

6. What type of public transport can be found in your city?

In my city, there are various types of public transport, including buses and taxis.
Additionally, motorbike taxis known as 'xe ôm' are widely available for short trips.

7. Are there any transport problems in your city?

Yes, one of the major transport problems in my city is traffic congestion. The rapid
increase in the number of vehicles on the road has led to traffic jams, especially during
rush hours.

8. How would we improve that problem?

I think authorities could invest in expanding and modernizing public transport options,
create dedicated bike lanes, promote carpooling, and encourage the use of electric
vehicles. Implementing stricter traffic regulations and congestion pricing may also help
manage traffic flow

9. Will there be more people taking public transportation in the future?

Maybe, especially as cities become more crowded and environmental concerns grow.
However, it will depend on improvements in public transport infrastructure, convenience,
and affordability.

10. Do you think people should use public transport more?

Yes, I think It can help reduce traffic congestion, lower pollution levels, and lead to more
sustainable and livable cities.
