Assignment 1

Answer the following questions with maximum of 1 paragraph 5 sentences each.

1. Is happiness the most important thing that people want to get, or is there something that people want
even more than happiness?
2. Is it right to make yourself unhappy just to make other people happy?

Assignment 2

Read the following scenario and answer the questions that follow. Maximum of 3 paragraph 5 sentences
each.

One day, a former employee informs you that she has applied for a position in another company and has
made you as one of her character references. This former employee was fired from the job due to
inefficiency, absences, and tardiness as a result of her being an alcoholic. She hopelessly needs a job
because she is a single parent with three children. She asks you to give her a good recommendation letter
and never to mention her drinking habit, which she assures you is now under control. She also requests
you to mention that she voluntarily left the company in order to resolve a family medical crisis, and that
the company was much pleased with her work. You know her well and believe that she is an efficient
worker when she is not under the influence of alcohol. However, you are doubtful if her drinking problem
is already under control.

Activity 1

Read the scenario and answer the questions that follow. Maximum of 2 paragraph 5 sentences each.

Suppose you are already working for a company and your boss tells you that you should offer a bribe to a
government agent to obtain permit to build and operate a factory in a province. What would you do? What
are your alternatives if you believe that it is wrong to bribe government agencies?

Activity 2

Post a picture of you when you were young and now in the present. Share a situation from the
past that made you realize today that if that situation comes again, you now know better about
making ethical decisions.
