OUR GREAT HEALER

Are you in the lowest of moments, facing a what seems to be a challenging situation beyond your
control, or perhaps you have an illness that seems to be draining you in all ways possible to a
point you feel like you can not go on with life, and at times you even ask God to take it away and
that doesn’t happen or maybe you begin to feel as if you are alone and no one cares, that usually
happens to almost everyone, yet we are reminded by wonderful hymn written by Civilla Durfee
Martin which goes like, “Be not dismayed whatever betide, God will take care of you beneath his
wings of love through everyday of all the way God will take care of you.” This gives us a
wonderful assurance that indeed God looks after his children when we read Mathew 6, he tells
us that he dresses the flowers and looks after the birds and feeds them, are we not more precious
than the birds? just as it written in Mathew 10: 29-31, God really does take care of us.
On the subject of healing when we read the bible we see that Jesus did more healing than
anything else aside from praying, he healed the blind, the sick, the lame and made everyone
whole, what is the purpose of him healing us through our suffering, we find this answer in john
9:3, Jesus tells us that the reason we suffer through illnesses, its not because we sinned but rather
its so that Gods work should be reviled through our suffering, so remember God shows his
power through our weakest moments.
Throughout the entire bible we read on the accounts of people being healed and receiving
healing, this shows that God is interested in our wellbeing, in Genesis 20;17 Abraham prayed to
God and God healed Abimelech, in exodus 23;25 God tells us that he will take away our
sickness, “you shall worship the Lord your God and I will bless your bread and your water and I
will take sickness away from among you.” That is God saying he will make us free from our
sickness again if we read in Psalm 107:20 it tells us that God sent his word and healed us (who is
this word, Jesus). And in Isaiah 53:4-5 he also tells us that through the stripes, (bruises) of Christ
we are healed.
Just remember that God loves you to an extent that he sent his only son to die for you and me, he
will never forsake you and he is always there for you; when you pass through the waters, is it
sickness, I will be with you says God; and be it through the rivers they shall not overwhelm you,
when you walk through the fire you shall not be burned and the flame shall not consume you.
Therefore, my beloved friend, future wife, in as much as you are going through tough trial
moments remember God is with you always, though he never said there won’t be any trails but
he did promise to be with us in every situation come what may.
