The 'A' Train Jazz Jam

The 'A' Train is a collection of Professional Session musicians who all live in
Brighton and enjoy playing in our home town during the week.

We run the night as a workshop/jam session playing a set of challenging tunes with
lots of improvisation,the audience are invited join the band in the 2 nd set.

The regular line up is Guitar ,Drums,Bass and Saxophone (featuring well known
local musicians) playing different tunes each week crossing over genres and styles
ranging from Jazz,Latin,Blues,Pop,Reggae,Funk and Soul.

We have a following of people whom support us including tap dancers,music

students, trombonists,singers,accordionists,bassists,clarinetists,mouth organ anything
goes and each night is different this way we get people of all ages coming back.

We started it over a year ago at The Caxton Arms where it was well supported then
moved to The Chequers where we ran it every Monday turning a very quiet night into
a busy one for 8 or 9 months.
Unfortunately the landlord moved on a couple of months ago.

We currently run it at The Mad Hatter in Kemp town but just once a month so we are
looking for a new venue.

We are looking to run The 'A' Train on a week night to keep the costs down,we
currently ask £160 for the band per night when it's part of a regular weekly booking.
