Short Adjectives

Comparative: adjective+er than

John is older than Mary.

Superlative: the adjective+est

John is the oldest in class.

Comparative: more/less + adjective than

The shirt is more expensive than the shorts.

Superlative: the most/the least + adjective

This cap is the most expensive.

This one is the best film.


bad worse than the worst This song is worse than that one.

That really is the worst song.


far farther than the farthest London is farther than Madrid.
