PROJECT DESCRIPTION
THE MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR) PROGRAM IS A
TARGETED INITIATIVE DESIGNED TO ENHANCE THE WELL-BEING AND
RESILIENCE OF LEVEL 2 NURSING STUDENTS AT THE ASIA PACIFIC
COLLEGE OF ADVANCED STUDIES. AS NURSING STUDENTS PROGRESS IN
THEIR EDUCATION, THEY ENCOUNTER INCREASING STRESSORS THAT CAN
IMPACT THEIR MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING. THIS PROGRAM AIMS
TO PROVIDE PRACTICAL TOOLS ROOTED IN MINDFULNESS TO HELP
STUDENTS MANAGE STRESS, FOSTER SELF-AWARENESS, AND CULTIVATE
A FOUNDATION FOR LONG-TERM WELL-BEING.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
INTRODUCE NURSING STUDENTS TO THE PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES OF
MINDFULNESS.
EQUIP STUDENTS WITH MINDFULNESS TECHNIQUES APPLICABLE TO
THEIR ACADEMIC AND CLINICAL SETTINGS.
ENHANCE SELF-AWARENESS AND EMOTIONAL REGULATION SKILLS.
PROVIDE A SUPPORTIVE SPACE FOR STUDENTS TO DISCUSS AND
MANAGE STRESSORS UNIQUE TO NURSING EDUCATION.
FOSTER A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND PEER SUPPORT.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
SESSION 1: INTRODUCTION TO MINDFULNESS
RESOURCES REQUIRED
CLASSROOM OR VIRTUAL MEETING SPACE WITH AUDIOVISUAL CAPABILITIES.
PSYCHOLOGIST/ PSYCHIATRIST
PRINTED MATERIALS, HANDOUTS, OR DIGITAL RESOURCES FOR PARTICIPANTS.
EVALUATION TOOLS (SURVEYS, FOCUS GROUP GUIDES).
