SUMMER BREAK 2024-25 CLASS 5

Dear parents and student, please take care of your health during summertime. Please drink
plenty of water and eat healthy food including fruits. These breaks are for your learning along
with relaxation. So don't forget to learn new things from your surroundings and nature. Here are
few work that you are supposed to do during your summer break :

English

1. Playing outside in summer sometime causes dehydration. Prepare your favorite refreshing
drink at home with the help of your parents. Write steps of making this drink and paste/ draw
picture of your drink.

2. Write down the opposite gender of the underlined words:

Yesterday my grandmother and mother came to our school. My uncle brings my brother and
me to school everyday. We address our male teacher as 'Sir'. He is a wise man.

3. Rearrange the words and make meaningful sentences. One has been done for you.

4. Enough writing for the breaks. Practice this tongue twister during break with correct
pronunciation.

" Betty bought a bit of butter. But the butter was bitter. So Betty bought a bit of butter to make
bitter butter better. "

Mathematics

1. Visit to your local vegetable market with your patents and observe the market. Note down
items that you have bought along with their price and rate. Also total the amount you have paid.
Do this activity five times.
2. A shopkeeper bought 20 kg of mangoes at the rate of ₹15/ kg.

a) How much money did he pay for the mangoes?

b) He is selling these mangoes at the rate of ₹23/ kg. Calculate how much money will he earn?

c) Is the shopkeeper having profit or loss? Find out.

3. Calculate:

a) 45.9 × 37 b) 63 × 29.3 c) 71.95 + 54.3 d) 91.7 - 58.3

4. Revise tables from 2 to 17.

EVS

1. Learn work done in notebook.

2. Read chapter 1 of evs book.

3. Make poster on A4 sheet to save endangered animals.
