INTEREST

FAMILY SETTINGS
Guideline on questions to ask;
 Where and who do you stay with?
 Do you have siblings?
 Talk about extended families
 Who is the breadwinner?
 How many times do they eat per day?
 Do they have rules set by guardians?

SOCIAL INTERACTIONS
 Allow for general conversations for girls to get know each other (10- 15mins)
 What’s her favourite colour, food and subjects in school
 Who do they look up to?
 And What’s her favourite colour, food and subjects in school
 Do they know how special they are?
 By end of each topic each child must have an idea about the importance of being a girl child
regardless of colour or culture

SPORTS AS A PROFESSION
 Why is it important for girls to be involved in sports?
 Why are they playing the sport they chose?
 Do they enjoy playing it school and in the communities they live in?
 How far would you want to go with the sport?
 Who is their role model?
 Besides being a profession, they can play socially meeting different people

CHILD ABUSE
 What is child abuse?
- This may take many forms, such as physical or neglect, sexual abuse, emotional abuse or
health care abuse
- CHILD ABUSE: is seen more in children whose parents are violent, alcoholics, drug
addicts and living in poverty
- Abusive parents might come from a background of abuse
 They should understand the meaning of child abuse and the sign

PHYSICAL SIGNS
- Bruises, scratches, cuts, and burns
- Fear of parents or a particular adult

EMOTIONAL ABUSE

- Rejection, isolation, terrorizing, ignoring, verbal assaulting

 Do they talk about these issues at home with parents?
 They should know that anyone can abuse them

OBJECTIVES
 By end of each topic every child must have an idea about the importance of being
a girl child in a community regardless of colour, culture or religion
 They should be proud of their background
 If they can show discipline in a game then outside the field you are a well-respected child
