METHODS AND PROCEDURES

This chapter represents the methods and procedures such as

research design, respondent of the study, data gathering tool

data gathering procedures and the statistical tool that used in

this study.

Research Design

This study employs a descriptive research design to

quantitatively assess the perceptions of community residents

towards the programs of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency

(PDEA). The aim is to gather statistical data that reflects the

community’s attitudes and opinions.

Respondent of the study

The target population for this study includes 50 female and

50 male above from selected communities here in the Tuguegarao

where PDEA programs have been active. A stratified random method

will be used to ensure representation across different

demographic groups, including age, gender, and socioeconomic

status.

Data Gathering Tool

The primary instrument for data collection will be a

structured questionnaire comprising closed-ended questions rated

on a Likert scale. The questionnaire will be developed based on a

review of literature and validated through a pilot study with a

small subset of the target population.

The first part of the questionnaire determined the profile

of respondent with regard to their age, gender, civil status and

highest educational attainment.

The second part of the questionnaire determined the

informed about the purpose of the study and assured of their

anonymity. DI KO PA NAGAWA

Statistical Tools.

The researchers used the following statistical technique in

analyzing the data gathered.

Frequency and percentage counts was used to analyze the

profile of the respondents and weighted Mean was also used to

determine perception of community residents towards Philippine

Drug Enforcement Agency Programs. It will be also use to

interpret the modified 5-point scale below.

Numerical Value Numerical Range Descriptive Interpretation

5 4.20-5.00 Always

4 3.40-4.19 Often

3 2.60-3.39 Sometimes

2 1.80-2.59 Seldom

1 1.00-1.79 Never

Moreover Analysis of variance (ANOVA) will also be use in

measuring the perception of community residents towards

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Programs
