A manufacturing company that produces a multitude of injection molded plastic

products such as ballpen tips, sputum cups, grease cups, bottle caps, and PVC
fittings, which can be considered as either consumer or industrial goods.
Furthermore, the said company’s operations are centralized on the two following
activities: manufacturing of specific products to be distributed to the domestic
market and production as a subcontractor.
Ever since its certificate of incorporation was granted by the Securities and
Exchange Commission, in just a span of four years subsequent thereto, the
corporation had successfully managed to achieve a conspicuously prolific growth
rate on par with its envisioned agenda. Moreover, with an average sales per month
of 1,640,000 Php, a profit margin of 32%, 72% return on total assets, and 15 times
annual turnover, it was indubitably deemed that the company is indeed profitable
thereby paving the opportunity for a prospective expansion. Additionally, the
corporation also desires to produce tissue holders as an inclusion to its existing
line of marketed goods, which has a projected sales of 48 million Php, 58 million
Php, and 70 million Php in the next three years, respectively. In spite of the
aforementioned strengths that the company has to offer, it has been determined
that one of its significant weaknesses lies on the fact that the entity does not
maintain a sales force (general manager directly conducts transactions with clients
and it also serves the role of a marketing executive) and the distance of its office
(Makati Avenue, Makati) with respect to its production plant (Sta. Rosa, Laguna),
which is a potential hindrance in expediting business transactions and concerns.
Due to the company’s consideration to foster improvements on facilities,
machineries, and other pertinent equipment, additional manpower to sustain its
business affairs is imperative. The recommended additional positions and the
quantity thereof are as follows: 1 Finance Manager, 1 Quality Control and
Research and Development Manager, 1 Senior Machinist, 2 Junior Machinist, and
2 Helpers. The general manager was tasked to lay out a new organizational chart,
interposing the aforementioned new positions, which will be reviewed and
evaluated in the forthcoming executive meeting.
