THE
SONGS
AND THEIR
HISTORY
OF TWO OF
THEM
No me destruyas-Zoé
Ya no me destruyas Ya no me haces daño
Don't destroy me anymore cuando me desangra
Con tus mitomanías You'd don't hurt me
With your mythomania anymore when it bleeds out
No rasques mis alas Ya no me destruyas más
Don't scratch my wings. Don't destroy me anymore.
Que me duelen Ya no me destruyas más
That hurt me. Don't destroy me anymore.
Pastillas gigantes Ya no me destruyas
Giant pills Don't destroy me anymore
Recámaras secretas Mejor desaparece
Secret room’s Just disappear.
Con luces obscenas Y no rasques mis alas
With obscene lights And don't scratch my wings
Sáquenme de aquí Que me duelen
Get me out of here That hurt me.
Y es triste aceptarlo Ya no afiles las navajas
And it's sad to accept it Don't sharpen the knives
Pero no vale llorarlo anymore
But it's not worth crying Ya no me haces daño
aboutit. cuando me las clavas
Uno siempre recibe You don't hurt me when you
One always receives stick them in me anymore.
Lo que viene dando Ya no afiles los colmillos
What he's been giving. Don't sharpen the fangs
Ya no afiles las navajas anymore
Don't sharpen the knives Y ya no me hacen daño
anymore cuando me los hundes
Y ya no me haces daño And they don't hurt me
cuando me las clavas anymore when you sink
You don't hurt me anymore them on me
when you stab them on me Ya no me destruyas más
Ya no afiles los colmillos Don't destroy me anymore.
Don't sharpen the fangs Ya no me destruyas más
anymore Don't destroy me anymore.
I chose this song because it caught my attention because of the
title “no me destruyas”.
I had never heard this singer's songs before, but I listened to it
and I found it so relaxing and so sentimental, it made me
remember certain things, things that maybe hurt, but it's a
great song, I think I will start listening to more songs by Zoé.

I did some research and Zoé is a Mexican Alternative Rock band

formed in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. The band was formed
in 1994 and found its stability in 1997. Since that date it has
contributed to Spanish music on a large scale during the 26
years it has been in the music market.

In 2019 the rock band received recognition for their album

Aztlán; they won the award for best Latin rock, urban or
alternative album at the 61st Grammy Awards, it was their first
Grammy from the North American industry, however, the
group had received two others in 2011 at the Latin Grammy
Awards and has received multiple nominations and awards on
different occasions. The band is currently led by Leon Larregui
and formed by Sergio Acosta on guitar, Jesus Baez plays
keyboards, Angel Mosqueda plays bass and Rodrigo Guardiola
plays drums.

They have uploaded 7 studio albums, several live albums and

10 tours throughout Latin America, North America and Spain,
their songs have been part of the soundtrack of movies and
novels. Their first hit Soñé was part of the soundtrack of the
movie Amar te duele, one of the best known movies in Mexico,
they have made commercials for Coca-Cola and for the laptop
brand HP, since then they have positioned themselves as one of
the best rock bands in Spanish, filling stadiums and coliseums
all over Latin America.
They have revived Rock in several lines as they have maintained
their aesthetics by evolving with their music to the current era
which is more synthetic and digitized and have been an influence
of several Latin artists such as Caloncho and Jósean Log. In 2020
they will participate in the Netflix documentary Rompan Todo: La
Historia del Rock en América Latina.
The band has influences from psychedelic rock, romantic ballad,
and pop rock. León Larregui has written most of the lyrics of their
songs but the complete musical technique is generated by each
of its members making the group known for their songs and their
particular scene.

During the 90's the concept of Zoé was still uncertain, the band
had a long way doing informal presentations. They even had
appearances on Tv Azteca in their music program Coca-Cola Rock
Líquido which aired between 1995 and 1996, where they gave
presentations with unreleased songs such as “Me Da Miedo
Pensar” and “Alter Ego”, as well as interviews.

After researching most of Zoé's history, I started to listen to his

music because it was interesting to me, yet at the same time I find
the songs melancholic, they are very good and I would keep
listening and I would like to learn them to sing them, there are
mixed feelings in so many songs, how life has been and behaved.
I have been in my life clinging to a single thread in which there is
no balance, but you go ahead and try to improve, but you can not
always continue, you reach a point where you burst and do not
want to continue or just let it all adrift, one must work on it and
sometimes the songs help you feel good, whether sad or happy,
music is something that should always exist because it is the most
amazing thing in the world, something that makes you feel alive
again.
Cool out- imagine dragons
Cool out, cool out
I live my life in black and white
Relájate (relájate)
Vivo mi vida en blanco y negro
Just before I go
I know that's not what you would like
Justo antes de que me vaya
Sé que eso no es lo que te gustaría
Yes, I know that I'm losing control, and
That's all I know, I put my mind in cruise
Si, sé que estoy perdiendo el control y
control
I wanna take things slow
Eso es todo lo que sé, puse mi mente en
Quiero tomarme las cosas con calma
automático
Put my mind in cruise control
Standing on your front porch saying, "Don't
Poner mi mente en automático
go"
I know I'm always pacing
Parado en tu pórtico delantero, diciendo: "no
Sé que siempre estoy midiendo el ritmo
vayas"
And I blame it on the pressure I'm facing
You were looking at me wild, saying, "Just go
Y culpo a la presión que estoy enfrentando
home and"
I wanna take things slow
Me estabas mirando salvajemente diciéndome
Quiero tomarme las cosas con calma
sólo vete a casa y.
Put my mind in cruise control
Cool out
Poner mi mente en automático
(Relajate)
I'm standing on your front porch saying,
'Cause baby, I don't think I'm the one for you
"Don't go"
Porque bebé, no creo que yo sea para ti
Estoy parado en tu porche delantero, diciendo:
So just cool out
"no te vayas"
Así que solo relájate
You were looking at me wild, saying, "Just
'Cause baby, I don't think I'm the one for you
go home and"
Porque bebé, no creo que yo sea para ti
Me estabas mirando salvajemente diciéndome
So cool out, stay high, stay fresh, play nice
sólo vete a casa y.
Así que relájate, mantente alto, mantente fresco,
Cool out
juega bien
(Relajate)
And just, cool out
'Cause baby, I don't think I'm the one for
Y solo relájate
you
'Cause baby, I don't think I'm the one for you
Porque bebé, no creo que yo sea para ti
Porque bebé, no creo que yo sea para ti
So just, cool out
So cool out (cool out)
Así que solo relájate
Así que cálmate (relájate)
'Cause baby, I don't think I'm the one for
So cool out (cool out)
you
Así que cálmate (relájate)
Porque bebé, no creo que yo sea para ti
All the things that you detest in me
So cool out, stay high, stay fresh, play nice
Todas las cosas que detestas de mí
Así que relájate, mantente alto, mantente
They keep you coming back for more, you see
fresco, juega bien
Verás, te hacen volver por más
And just, cool out
We make each other get a bit crazy
Y solo relájate
Nos volvemos un poco locos mutuamente
'Cause baby, I don't think I'm the one for
But you will always be a part of me
you
Pero siempre serás una parte de mí
Porque bebé, no creo que yo sea para ti
So cool out (cool out)
So cool out
Así que cálmate (relájate)
Así que relájate
So cool out (cool out)
You're always saying that you read my sign
Así que cálmate (relájate)
and
Cool out (cool out)
Siempre dices que entiendes mi señal y
Relájate (relájate)
Always wishing that I take the time but
So cool out (cool out)
Siempre deseas que me tome el tiempo, pero
Así que cálmate (relájate)
You know that's not my speed
(Cool out, cool out)
Sabes que esa no es mi velocidad
Relájate (relájate)
Only believe what I can see
Solo creo en lo que puedo ver
Imagine Dragons' song 'Cool Out' dives into the theme of self-
awareness and recognizing one's limitations in a relationship.
Imagine Dragons is known for its style that blends alternative
rock with elements of pop and electronica, and 'Cool Out' is no
exception. The song combines a catchy melody with
introspective lyrics, creating a contrast that reflects the
narrator's internal struggle.

The band often explores themes of inner conflict, love and the
human condition, and 'Cool Out' is an example of how they
approach these topics in a way that resonates with their
audience.
The band formed in 2008 with Dan Reynolds on vocals along
with other students from Brigham Young University.
In time, the band's current guitarist, Wayne Sermon, would
arrive. Then, at his invitation, Ben McKee, their bassist, was
called in, and later on, Daniel Platzman, their drummer.

When the rock band became popular, especially after the

presentation of the first album “Night Visions”, the mystery
regarding the name and the anagram was something that fans
longed to know. Everything was revealed in the official video
clip of the song “On Top of the World”.

The song '#1' by Imagine Dragons is an anthem of self-

discovery and self-affirmation. The narrator of the song seems
to be in a moment of introspection and a search for identity,
where he is confronted with the need to recognize his own
worth regardless of the opinion of others. The repetition of the
phrase 'I'm still my number one' reinforces the idea that,
despite challenges and disappointments, the individual must
remain his or her own priority and source of validation.
The song's theme also addresses the internal struggle of
learning to let go of what no longer serves, as reflected in the
lines 'When am I gonna learn I've got to let things go?' This
suggests a battle against the tendency to cling to situations
or relationships that are no longer beneficial. The mention of
'leeches' and the need for a 'safe space' indicate the
presence of negative or toxic influences from which the
narrator seeks to free himself.

After doing research on this band I was able to realize that

their first song was named after their original band name
where they express too many things, that I realized that
clinging is not good, that you must move on and let go of
what is not for you, that it is to your benefit and that despite
feeling something, you must always put yourself first before
everyone else.

I liked the song cool out quite a lot, more because it talks
about the control of oneself towards some situation that is
happening, the feeling of guilt and wanting to take things
easy. Today I could realize things and these singers are
bringing out everything they feel, through their songs, many
hide their emotions, which they should not do, because there
will come a point when they explode and everything can be
worse.
