IMPORTANT DATES

Have you picked up your cap and gown?

If you are an early graduate – please enter through door #1. All others can pick
theirs up in Student Services. For cap and gown orders or for any questions, please
call Herff Jones at 815-756-4743

Graduation Tickets—All graduates are welcome to invite up to 15 guests to attend the

commencement ceremony at the Convocation Center in DeKalb. Tickets will not be
collected at the entrance to the event, however we ask that all families adhere to
the maximum of 15 total guests per graduate, seating is open.

May 14 (Tuesday) - 6:00 p.m. – Senior Awards Night

This is an invitation only event.

May 17 (Friday) – 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Mandatory Graduation Practice

All graduates MUST attend graduation practice in order to participate in the formal
ceremony. Practice will be held at OEHS in the BLUE Gym. Please enter through
door #40.

May 17 (Friday) – 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Senior Brunch at Bolingbrook Golf Club
• Tickets can be purchased through PushCoin. Please take a picture or print
out your receipt for verification.
• The deadline to purchase tickets was May 8th. Tickets will not be available at
the door.

May 18 (Saturday) – Graduates must be at NIU at 2:00 pm

• Doors open for guests and families at 2:00 pm. Students and families park in
lot C2 and C1 and enter through either Entrance 2 or Entrance 4.
• Graduates will start lining up at 2:30 pm, and the ceremony begins promptly
at 3 pm.

Graduation Ceremony Expectations:

 NIU has specific requirements for what can and cannot be brought into the Convocation
Center. Please see graphics below:

 Graduation is the capstone activity

of one’s high school experience.
Oswego East High School is
proud to provide a formal and
highly dignified graduation
ceremony for our students and
their families. Please understand
that your involvement in the
graduation ceremony is a
privilege. Any serious discipline
infractions may result in the loss
of this privilege.

 Dress Code: To help ensure a

dignified ceremony, we ask that
students dress appropriately. All
graduates must wear the cap and
gown issued by Herff Jones.
Medals (if received) should be
worn under the collar. Cords (if
received) should be worn over the
collar.

 The Convocation Center is located on NIU's West Campus, north of Lincoln Highway, west of the
soccer field and west of Huskie Stadium.

Parking: Please park in Lots C2 or C1.

From the East (Oswego)
From I-88: Exit onto Annie
Glidden Road. From Annie
Glidden Road, turn left (west)
onto Lincoln Highway (Route
38) to the Convocation Center
Entrance.

From I-90: Exit onto Route 47

South. Take Route 38 West
approximately 20 miles to the
Convocation Center Entrance.
