DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMME First time, when I know that I have been choosen to further studies at university like Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), I feel so excited. But the most important thing, I am so grateful because I got a chance to learn something that I missed before, but I still nervous about my ability to be a student again after I left that more than fifteen years.In this situation my friends and my only daughter always gave me their adviced and supported and make me more confident. Now, I am one of the student in distance learning programme under Bahagian Pendidikan Guru (BPG). Distance learning has become a growing vogue for many students who pursue higher education. It gives you the chance to further your education in any stage of your life but like any other style of teaching, distance learning has some advantages and disadvantages too. Distance learning does not require commuting. This saves you money and time that youd otherwise spend on travel back and forth to school. You can schedule learning around the other aspects of your personal and professional life. You can transfer the computer and Internet skills that you'll gain in the process of your distance learning experience to other facets of your life. This reduces stress and increases satisfaction. Distance learning is only fruitful if you can manage both your job and studies with equal sincerity. You have to put in a lot of efforts at both fronts. Owing to the lack of a physical teacher and a classroom, it might get difficult for some students to motivate themselves to study harder, and complete assignments on time. It is true that distance education provides good chances to learn new things and echnologies but it is complicated. Whatever problem were happened, it is depends to ourselves. We can

build a study group among the students were live in the same district. It is more comfortable because we can choose the time and place on our own. To make online education or virtual learning as easy as possible, a student must be comfortable using a computer and the internet. Someone who has to master these skills ill likely experience a learning curve and have to work doubly hard at first to keep up with the class and assignments. Distance learning has advantages that can benefit many people especially those who have job and families to continue their education. Depending upon ones own situations, one can match up and decide what he should choose for beautifying the educational and professional qualifications
