There are so many recent British comedies that it is difficult to choose.

The everyday
madness of Black Books, IT Crowd, and The Office. Also the take off of masculinity in
Peep Show, the idiocy of Father Ted, and modern London life in Fleabag and
Absolutely Fabulous. There is a more gentle side in The Detectorists, Marion and
Geoff, and Outnumbered. Surrealism in The MIghty Boosh, and situation comedy in
The Trip. Sketches in Smack the Pony. There are very dark commentaries on modern
England in The League of Gentlemen and Nighty Night. And Fawlty Towers,which is
quite old now. But it is the most popular comedy so I included it.

Black Books
