Senior Process Safety Engineer

Role:

• The Senior Process Safety Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementation and continual
improvement of the site process safety management procedure and working instructions, advising
on loss prevention engineering matters and shall take part in ensuring contractor safety;
• This position coordinates Process Safety Management (PSM) and Asset Integrity efforts on board
the FLNG, including PHAs and PSM audits;
• Provides technical expertise to help evaluate risks and cost-effectively resolve process safety issues,
including recommendations from PHAs, audits and incident investigations. This role shall serve PHA,
facilitating PHA’s activities, develop relevant procedures, lead/participate in incident investigations
and delivering of relevant trainings, and interact with operations & maintenance.

Main Responsibilities:

• Monitor and report process safety performance KPIs;

• Maintain records of SECE risk assessments and update Cumulative Risk Barrier model regularly;
• MOC processes; analyses risks associated with changes and advise on risk tolerability according to
company risk management procedure. Contribute to the design of engineering solutions
supporting the development of detailed designs specifications. Prepare deliverables to meet
company requirements considering and including:
o Equipment citation, fire zones and layout impact specifications;
o Fire & Gas System Specification;
o Active and Passive Fire Protection;
o Fire Fighting Layouts;
o Fire and Gas Detection Mapping Layouts;
o Hazardous Area Classification Layouts;
o Engineering Studies Reports (Smoke and Gas Dispersion Analysis, Fire and Explosion Risk
Analysis, Cryogenic Risk Analysis, etc.);
o PHA Studies and Reports (HZIDS, HAZOPS, SILs, etc.);
o QRA report;

Senior Process Safety Engineer

o Safety requirement specification of SIS and IEC 61511 life cycle requirements;
o ESD and BD system designs and specification;
o Vessel survivability, depressurization, and flare radiation analysis;
o Emergency Response planning;
• Ensure process safety information and documents are complete, up to date and readily available;
• Define the safety technical aspects for procurement of equipment and services including
preparation of requisitions, technical bid evaluation, vendor data review, scope of work
development;
• Be able to participate, lead and /or facilitate engineering studies if required for any change
management;
• Environmental Data, and use the information for interdisciplinary support;
• Check the technical completeness and correctness of work done by contractors;
• Ensure performance standards of safety and environmental critical elements are met via audits,
inspections and witnessing of tests;
• Be proficient with international Codes and Standards, Industry Best Practice and Safety
Regulations;
• Be proficient in demonstration of ALARP and building of a Safety Case report.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with relevant process safety engineering qualifications;

• Master in Process Safety Management is preferred;
• 10 years of Oil and Gas Industry experience preferably LNG – at least 5 years in senior position of
process safety engineering.

Competencies:

• Be proficient in interpreting P&IDs, Cause and Effects charts, Single line diagram and other
document that are required for PHA’s different studies;
• Technically proficient in all areas of Process Safety Management and relevant areas of loss
prevention engineering;
