Competences reflection

1. Identify bias, contradictions, and

distortions – are you able to see if there is a personal opinion affecting the text, if they claim
something and then claim opposite and being misleading.

I will always try to analyze if the writer put their own opinion, if they contradict themselves or if they are
being misleading whenever I read a piece of text.

2. Assess and refine texts to improve clarity and impact – are you able to make the writing more
understandable and meaningful.

I will do my best to proofread and fix any errors or parts that don’t make sense in my text before
allowing others to read it.

3. Express and support an opinion with evidence – are you able to back up what you say with proof.

When I write something I will provide proof or evidence that what I say is correct or backed up
by others.

1. Access information for diverse purposes and from a variety of sources to inform writing – are
you able to look for information from different sources and compare them.

I will throughout this semester look at the topic using different sources to see the different
perspectives on the subject.

2. Explore the relevance, accuracy, and reliability of texts – are you able to see if the text you are
reading is trustworthy.

I will work on cross referencing text with other sources to see if they match up during this
semester.
