PEACE, JUSTICE AND STRONG INSTITUTIONS

Today, we live in an era where not a single day of ours goes without uttering the word-AI. YES, I am talking about
Artificial Intelligence. Hello, everyone. Al is a topic that has captured the imagination of scientists, engineers, and
thinkers for decades. Goal 16 is about promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, providing access to justice for all and
building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. SDG 16's goals are closely tied to the rule of law,
which also seeks to provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions.

In the recent year, we have seen huge developments in the technology realm with Al advancements.. Global leaders
acknowledged that Al has the potential to accelerate the SDG goals ‘Promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies’. AI
has already made significant inroads into our lives. AI is all around us. It’s driving innovation in healthcare, finance,
transportation, and countless other fields. The changes in SDG 16 indicators impact country’s progress towards
indicators linked to health, gender equality, water and sanitation, and climate change. To create the future we want,
the time to act is now. The target of SDG goal 16 is to End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence
against and torture of children

However, as we marvel at the possibilities of Al, we must also grapple with its challenges. How do ensure that AI
system is Fair and unbiased? How do we protect privacy in an age of data-driven Al? These are complex issues that
require careful consideration. Tracking progress on SDG 16 is challenging due to issues with data availability across
various indicators. High levels of armed violence and insecurity have a destructive impact on a country’s development.
Sexual violence, crime, exploitation and torture are prevalent where there is conflict or no rule of law.
AI technologies can be used to promote peace, justice, and strong institutions by enhancing the efficiency of
government activities, addressing ethical and legal concerns, and providing unique capabilities and services. Use AI
carefully to avoid bias and distrust. Ensure transparency and human oversight.

AI is a force that is shaping our future in profound ways. It holds incredible potential to improve our lives, but it also
challenges us to think critically about how we harness this power responsibly.
AI is neither good nor evil. It’s Technology for us to use.
