My visit to Rajasthan
On 13 March, Wednesday, I along with my grandmother ,paternal uncle and aunt and my cousins leave for
Jaipur in the evening near about 3pm from Rohtak. The day was very charming. We all were very excited
to reach the destination and left for there from our personal vehicle. Only in the starting of the journey,
absurd thing took place as we forget to took my bag full of clothes but fortunately my brother call us just
within 15 minutes and came to give it to us. Then after coming to Rewari , suddenly there started raining
and the weather becomes more soothing and calm. From there only, the Aravallis started appearing and
we were taking videos and pictures from our car. The sunset view was magnifying as the sun was seeming
to play hide and seek with us because it was hiding behind the hills. The reddish light of the sun and that
cold breeze was giving a sense of serenity and calmness to us. Then we stop at a restaurant to have tea
and enjoy the sunset.

Then, we got prepared for the long journey to be travelled and enjoyed the way by singing songs.
My younger cousin had the responsibility of handling the packed food like chocolates, chips, imli,
Kurkure, bingo, pasta, aam-chur tablets and many more eatable products. We reached Jaipur at
9.30 and first visited the Hawa Mahal to see its beauty in the night view which was literally elegant.
It remained opened only till evening so we took photos from outside and then explore the Jaipur
market from where I purchased earrings and necklace. I bought a dress for my mother and some
toys for my siblings. Then we went on to find a hotel for a night stay and dinner. We checked in
the Jasoda hotel which was about 10 minutes far away from Hawa Mahal so that we can visit the
place early in the morning as we have planned to visit Udaipur the very next day. We took dinner
and then went outside in the market to have a walk.
The next day, on 14th march, Thursday , we wake up, have breakfast and then leave for Hawa Mahal .The
architecture of the palace was magnifying and demarcated the intelligence of architects. Its gate
was made short in length because of the advantage of soldiers during the war. The Mahal was very
large in size and have a magnificent look. There were numerous ventilation holes which then were
used to keep the palace cool. It was so much in size that we were tired and confused while
watching it. Then we hired an auto-rickshaw to explore the entire city monuments. After that, we
went to horror house. Then we went to Jal Mahal and was astonished to see its architecture as a
tree was growing upon the roof and we were shocked to see the growth. Then we went to Khajana
Mahal which was built just near the Aravalli hills and was full of greenery. There was the part of
rocks and the jewellery made from it. It shows the huge gold ring and the other ornaments used
by the king and queens at that time. It also consists of the cinema which shows the manufacturing
and the collection of those rocks from the different countries. The rocks and the pearls were
shown for different ras`his. The place was made with a astounding look. Then we went to the
Jantar Mantar where we observed the high intelligence of the ancient Indian people to depict the
time and look for the position of the stars to depict solar or lunar eclipse. Many instruments were
used there to find the geographical positions of stars. All the instruments were already developed
at that time which are now used by the modern day scientists, which shows the high intelligence
and old technology of Indians.
Then on the same day, we leave for Udaipur at about 3 in the evening and reached the destination at
about 9.30 .The we took the hotel near the City Palace and had dinner. The night view of the place
was very good. The city was famous for its lakes and their scenic beauty. The hotels and The City
palace were looking very auspicious in the night view.
On 15th march, Friday we first visited the Lake Pichola which was very soothing and serene. There was a
elegant hotel in the middle of the lake which was earlier used by the king in summers because of
the increased temperature and then the lake give a sense of relief to them. Then we did the
boating and after that visited the City Palace. There we took the guide and get to know about the
history of the palace. There were many gifts placed in the Palace presented as the Dowry like The
elephant placed on the main gate of the Palace. There was a silver mandap made for the princess
who was married recently in 2011. There was separate palace for the king and queen and the
rooms for their children, dressing room , conference rooms , milk feeding rooms, rest room ,
meeting rooms for queens and several gifts were placed in different buildings which showed the
infrastructure used by the then royal families. There was a swimming pool on the top floor for the
royal parties from where the whole city was visible. The Palace was located on the plateau type
land which give the palace best location in the perspective os security in the ancient times when
there were attack on the Kings. Also, currently there exists a Raja who lives there only in the
building made just nearby the City Palace. The Rajasthani forts were known for their architecture
and the interior design used in the building which are much stable, long lasting and beautiful as
compared to recent day buildings.
Then on the same day we leave for the Jaisalmer and reached there at about 8.30. We see the blinking
lights of the wind mill in our way and many deer crossing the roads. We also saw several army
vehicles passing through our way and many tanks. As the place is nearby border, the place is very
active for the military purposes. There is also a air force station in Jaisalmer .
On 16th march, Saturday we first went to The Tanot mandir which became famous after the bomb attack
as the bomb did not exploded there. It is said that it was only due to spiritual powers of the Deity
due to which the life of people was saved. We visited the temple, took prashad and then went to
the INDO-PAK Border. There we saw the soldiers patrolling their on the border. We went on the
watch tower and observed the Pakistan border from there. Then we leave for Longewala and saw
the sand dunes and the shrubs on the roadside. The area was completely prone of vegetation and
only in some areas the fields or area was dissected. There were camels roaming around, small
children playing volleyball on the sunny day and people rearing their cattle from distance to
distance. We were spending time joyfully by telling some hilarious events of our life and making
fun of each other. Then we reached Longewala and saw the tanks captured by Indian Army from
Pakistan during the war of 1971. There was a museum and a movie of 20 minutes which shows
the exact event happened at that time. The martyrs were given respect and we saw the bunkers
and the machine gun and the weapons used there in the war. The great victory of India in the war
is shown in a very simple manner with the help of maps. Then we left for doing activities like camel
riding, Desert Safari and para gliding behind the car which were done in the special place called
Sam. The desert safari was the most enjoyable part in the Journey. We took the journey of 5 points
in the sand dunes and then did the camel riding. Then we did the para gliding behind the car which
was also exciting.
The whole journey was full of excitement and joy. Then we left for home in the evening of 16th march and
drive for the home continuously. We reached home after the driving of almost 12 hours and were
completely tired But the journey was worth it and we all enjoyed it very much.
