Relevance of CO with POs

Course Outcome 1: Explain the operation and characteristics of semiconductor diode

CO1 aims to explain the basic concepts, theory of operation and characteristics of a semiconductor diode. So, it
moderately contributes to PO1. But, this will not enhance the student to design and investigate any complex problems
so it weakly contributes to PO2. The formulated CO1 does not contribute to the other POs.

Course Outcome 2: Outline the construction and working of Bipolar Junction Transistors

CO2 aims to outline the construction and working of Bipolar Junction Transistors. The basic knowledge related to
BJT and various models moderately contributes to PO1 and as they do not aid in design and conduct investigations it
weakly contributes to PO2. The formulated CO2 does not contribute to the other POs.

Course Outcome 3: Explain the construction and characteristics of FET devices

CO3 aims at explaining the construction and characteristics of Junction Field Effect Transistors and the formulated
CO moderately contributes with PO 1. CO3 weakly contributes to PO2 and does not contribute to the other POs.

Course Outcome 4: Summarize the working principles of special semiconductor devices

CO4 aims to utilize the basic knowledge of PN diode to understand special semiconductor devices and moderately
contributes to PO1. CO4 weakly contributes to PO2, PO6 and PO7 since it deals with the working conditions not to
analyses any special semiconductor devices. The formulated CO4 does not contribute to the other POs.

Course Outcome 5: Illustrate the construction and working of power & display devices

CO5 aims to outline the theory construction and working of power and display devices. The basic knowledge of
semiconductor is required to understand these concepts; CO5 gives a moderate contribution to PO1 and a weak
contribution to PO2, PO6 and PO7. The formulated CO5 does not contribute to the other POs.

Relevance of COs with PSOs

Program Specific Outcome 1:

Course outcomes from 1 to 5 moderately contribute to PSO1 as students would use the basic knowledge to understand
construction and working of PN diode, BJT, Power and display devices.

Program Specific Outcome 2:

The course outcomes 1 to 5 does not contribute to Program Specific Outcome 2 as no modern tool is being dealt with.
