Trip to: Oxfordshire Classical Association Reading Competition at the Ioannou Centre, Oxford University on
Tuesday 12th March 2024

Year Groups: 9 & 10

Subjects: Latin and Greek

Method of travel: Walking

Leave school at: 12.45pm

Return to school by: 4.00pm

Every year Oxford High School participates in the Oxfordshire Classical Association Classical Reading Competition
and your daughter has expressed an interest in taking part. It is an opportunity to read Greek and Latin out-loud,
and even to learn passages by heart. Prize-winners are awarded substantial book tokens!

This year the competition takes place on Tuesday 12th March in the afternoon at the Ioannou Centre on St Giles.
We shall walk there and back in a group, leaving school at 12.45pm returning by 4pm. Girls may leave direct from
the Ioannou Centre at 3.35pm at the end of the competition, as long as parents email me informing me of this if
they are catching a bus or train home.

There are no costs involved in this trip. Please email educationalvisits@oxf.gdst.net by 11/03/2024 if you do NOT
wish your daughter to take part in this trip.

Please note that this visit is covered by the Annual Educational Visits Consent Form and the OHS Medical
Information Form. Please notify the school immediately by emailing oxfordhigh@oxf.gdst.net, if there are any
changes to your daughter/ward’s contact/emergency contact details or medical information for this trip, as the
information we currently hold on your daughter/ward will be taken by the group leader on the visit. If you do not
wish your daughter/ward to participate in any of the stated activities or have any other queries, please let the
group leader know as soon as possible. If your daughter/ward has been prescribed an inhaler or epipen, she will
not be allowed on the trip unless she brings it with her, or we have a doctor’s letter to state she no longer needs it.
